
Anthony David Gonzalez was born in Torrance, California on February 27th in 1976. His family was from the southern part of California, and attended Huntington Beach High School where Gonzalez was a star player on both the basketball and football teams. Gonzalez was a star in these activities at University of California, Berkeley. He played with the football team in the 1996 Aloha Bowl. Here, Gonzalez set the record for school bowls with nine receptions. After a few months, Gonzalez was the team's basketball coach to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA basketball tournament. Gonzalez then went to the NFL Draft in 1997. Gonzalez was selected as the 13th overall pick by the Kansas City Chiefs. Gonzalez was a member of the Chiefs between 1997 and 2008. Gonzalez was transferred to the Atlanta Falcons. In Gonzalez's second NFL year, he was able to catch more than 59 passes each season.
