In doing so she became the first Latina in history to produce writing, directing and starring in her own show on television. Her professional career started at Los Angeles after she moved from Texas. There have been guest appearances in shows like Sons of Anarchy or General Hospital. She also wrote for the TV show Mind of Mencia. Also, she is a host and on the TV show "The View".
